Celebrating the power of the pair...two special friends who helped
change our world.
Dear Friends,
The Edison-Ford Winter Estates Foundation is an organization that
you hear little about as it works silently throughout southwest
Florida, the state and nationally. A mighty force has been in
action. Since its founding in 1994, the Foundation has worked to
raise funds in support of restoration and preservation projects at
the Thomas Edison and Henry Ford Winter Estates.
Now that the $9 million restoration of Edison’s home,
guesthouse, cottage and moonlight garden is nearly complete, I
would like to take a step back and share with you some of our
accomplishments. This web site provides you with the
Foundation’s history, restoration projects, as well as recent
fundraising events, a financial snapshot and our exciting new
direction going forward. Most importantly, it acknowledges and
thanks the generous donors to the Foundation’s Partners in
Preservation campaign.
The Board of Directors and I are deeply grateful to all who have
supported the Foundation’s mission with contributions and
event attendance. Your dedication and continued commitment has
truly made a difference, evidenced by this award-winningrestoration
effort.
It is the responsibility of every citizen of southwest Florida to
be a steward of our community’s cultural heritage. As such,
we must continue to be aware of our collective responsibility to
ensure that the Edison-Ford Winter Estates, a national treasure
right in our own backyard, will continue to provide enjoyment and
education for our children and generations to come.
