Founded in 1994, the Edison-Ford Winter Estates Foundation is a
private 501c (3) non-profit organization dedicated to support
restoration and preservation of the Thomas Edison and Henry Ford
Winter Estates and its educational programs.
Purpose
The Foundation solicits, receives and administers gifts in support
of the preservation of the homes, museum, laboratory and botanical
gardens of the Estates. Its fundraising mission also supports
educational programs related to the life and work of these
remarkable friends and neighbors.
The Foundation operates on a fiscal year from October 1 to
September 30. The annual operating budget is approved by the
Foundation’s Executive Committee and Board of Directors.
Income from the Partners in Preservation capital campaign is
restricted solely for the restoration of Thomas Edison homes,
guesthouse and caretaker’s cottage. Net income from
fundraising events is used to support the Foundation’s
operations and Estates restoration projects.
