TOM’S
CARIBBEAN FLING PROCEEDS
TO BENEFIT THE EDISON - FORD ESTATES FOUNDATION’S
RESTORATION PROJECT
(June 12, 2006 - Fort Myers) --- Sam Galloway, Jr.,
president of the Edison Ford Estates Foundation (center), and
Foundation Executive Director Barbara Hill (left) accept a check on
behalf of the foundation for
$50,000 from Tom’s Caribbean Fling co-chair Katherine
Dougherty (right). The check represents net proceeds of the
“fling,” a casual event held Saturday evening, May 12,
in Centennial Park. The proceeds will benefit the foundation and
its campaign to restore the Thomas Edison and Henry Ford
Estates.
Sponsored by Dean Steel Buildings, Galloway Family of
Dealerships, Oswald Trippe & Co., Daugherty & Carr,
Chico’s and Crews Environmental, and many additional
sponsors, Tom’s Caribbean Fling is a first-time event, and
was attended by more than 300 people. The event featured live music
from two bands, dancing, Caribbean cuisine, and Mojitos, as well as
pseudo gambling tables, and live and silent auctions.
